If you have misplaced your original certificate from either an ASCA course or a SwimCoach clinic, we will gladly send you a electronic copy of it.

Wanting to become a swimming coach?  Where do you start?
  1. Register with your provincial affiliate and/or National body – their contact details can be found on http://www.swimcoach.co.za/swimcoach-links/
  2. Become a member of ASCA (American Swimming Coaches Association) http://www.swimcoach.co.za/shop/asca-in-africa/asca-in-africa/
  3. Find a mentor in your area that is willing to allow you to shadow them. Your provincial body should be able to provide you with a list of registered coaches.
  4. Attend one of our ASCA courses, ideally start with ASCA level 1 – The Foundations of Coaching http://www.swimcoach.co.za/the-foundations-of-coaching/
  5. Continue to improve your education by attending SwimCoach clinics
  6. Search for jobs on swimcoach.co.za website

What are the specification for a diving block?

We would advise that you follow the FINA regulations on this.  This info can be found at www.fina.org

When must I renew my ASCA membership?

We renew ASCA membership once a year with ASCA USA office.  We tie it in with the Speedo SwimCoach Conference which is normally around July and August.  We will send reminders to all the African based coaches when memberships are been renewed.

Which membership option must I choose on the ASCA form?

You can leave the bottom section of the ASCA membership form blank as it does not apply to South African coaches.
