ASCA Level 3 Course – The Physiology School

R 3,250.00

This course delivers a working, general knowledge of physiology as it applies to the sport of swimming. Participants learn to implement science into their training plan, including how to develop training cycles, seasonal planning, periodization, as well as the significance of rest, recovery, nutrition, and tapering. Throughout the course coaches are exposed to a variety of physiological models, including examples from Jon Urbanchek, Dave Salo, and Jan Prins.

Description

The SwimCoach Mentorship Program is designed to bring coaches together more frequently, promoting continuous learning and collaboration. Our goal is to elevate the level of coaching expertise in the aquatics community across Africa.

This version of the ASCA Level 3 course, presented by Steve Haupt, spans 10 months and includes 4 mandatory online mentorship meetings. To prepare for these sessions, participants are required to review selected recorded content and read sections of the course manual before each monthly meetup. This approach ensures that mentor coaches can address your questions and discuss any concerns, making each session more interactive and engaging. It also allows mentors to share their knowledge and expertise more effectively.

To earn your ASCA Level 3 Education Certificate (provided you have already completed ASCA Levels 1-2), you must attend the compulsory online meetings, each lasting two hours, and successfully pass an online test.

The course is flexible, allowing you to join and attend meetings at any time throughout the year, as long as you have completed at least 50% of the course content. Be sure to come prepared for the mentorship meetings with a list of questions to maximize your learning experience.
