These are the steps to follow:
- Become a member of the American Swim Coaches Association. The process is done online with the USA office. For coaches from RSA and sub-sahara Africa, select the International (Electronic) membership.
- Ensure that you have attended at least one of the ASCA swim coach schools. This is required as part of the Education criteria, and can be done through SwimCoach, or online directly with ASCA in Fort Lauderdale.
You will be notified directly (and not via the SwimCoach office) of the outcome of the application. If your application is successful, you will receive a new membership card with your certification number, level and type. You will be notified of the number of units of education added to your permanent Certification Record.
