Mental Preparation of Athletes in the Build Towards a Major Meet
So often swimmers are great in training, but under pressure, they just can’t swim as fast as we know they can. As much as we train the body, the mind needs to be trained as well, and this talk will give coaches some practical tips on how to help swimmers channel nerves, develop correct thinking (not just positive thinking) and perform under pressure. The workshop will also touch on mental toughness vs mental health, and how to make sure we are all protecting swimmers’ well-being while they train and compete.
